Go for it! Choose the vegetarian option

If you choose a vegan spaghetti bolognese (387g CO2) instead of a spaghetti bolognese with meat (1,5kg CO2) you save 1,113kg CO2 per meal. Imagine now you eat spaghetti twice a month - you could save more than 26kg CO2 per year. Generally, the food system is the head driver of environmental issues. However, it fulfills a basic need for people which cannot be replaced. Even though meat production makes up the biggest negative impact on the environment, meat consumption is still not fundamentally declining. Meat production is the main source of emissions in the food sector but also in general. Studies show that abstaining from meat not only has a positive effect on the environment but also on an individual’s own health. Therefore we challenge you to take action and choose a vegetarian meal instead of meat today. Together we can make the world a more sustainable place.
